Sotomuke retrieves your existing Japanese website, translates it, and serves it on a separate hostname. Your Japanese website is never modified.
1. Paste your URL
Paste your site's URL on the homepage, and we'll first fetch only your homepage and create a preview with the first 300 sentences translated (up to 3 languages before you log in). Sign up for free and add the site from your dashboard to crawl the entire site (up to 100 pages) and see the number of pages, sentences, and characters. It takes just a few minutes. The preview is サイト名.sotomuke.com displayed at this address and is not indexed by search engines.
2. Sign up and review up to 20 pages
Log in with your email address via "Publish" on the preview screen or from the dashboard, and the preview will be linked to your account, with translation extended to the first 20 pages. There is no password. Simply open the link sent to your email.
When you add a new site from the dashboard, we first fetch its pages and display the number of pages, sentences and characters. No translation takes place until you review the content and languages and click "Start translation".
3. Review and edit translations
Under "Edit Translations & Glossary" in the dashboard, you can revise translations sentence by sentence and register translations of company and product names in the glossary. Edited translations are locked and will not be overwritten by subsequent automatic updates.
4. Choose a plan and go live
Once you choose a plan, translation of all pages begins. Enter the subdomain to publish to (e.g., global.example.co.jp) and add the single DNS record shown; the site will go live within a few minutes to up to an hour. An SSL certificate is issued automatically. If your DNS is managed by a web agency or IT staff, enter their email address under "Send to the person who manages DNS," and they will receive the record and instructions by email.
After launch
Updates to the original site are detected automatically, and only added or changed pages are translated and reflected (weekly on the Starter plan, daily on the Business plan and above). You can check traffic in the dashboard.
