Record to add (same for all companies)
| Type | CNAME |
|---|---|
| Name (hostname) | global * The subdomain portion specified in the dashboard. For "global.example.co.jp", this is global |
| Value (target / content) | publish.sotomuke.com * On screens that require a trailing period publish.sotomuke.com. |
| TTL | Auto, or 300–3600 |
After adding the record, click "Check settings" in the dashboard to view DNS propagation and certificate issuance status. The site usually goes live within a few minutes, and at most within about an hour.
Steps
- Log in to Onamae.com Navi and open "Domain DNS Settings" from "Name Server / DNS" in the top menu.
- Select the target domain and click "Configure" under "Use DNS Record Settings".
- In the input fields, enter
global(the part specified in the dashboard) as the host name,CNAMEas TYPE, andpublish.sotomuke.comas VALUE, then click "Add". You can leave TTL at 3600. - Save your changes by clicking "Proceed to confirmation" → "Apply" at the bottom of the page.
- Return to the Sotomuke dashboard and click "Check settings".
If you are not using the Onamae.com name servers (for example, if you use another provider's DNS or Cloudflare), configure the record with whichever service manages your DNS.
Common pitfalls
- Entering the full "global.example.co.jp" as the name. Most control panels fill in the domain part automatically, so
globalalone is sufficient. If the saved record looks like "global.example.co.jp.example.co.jp", this is the cause. - Confusing it with an A record. The type must always be CNAME. Do not enter an IP address.
- Touching existing records. You only need to add a record; there is no need to change or delete existing ones. Your Japanese site will not be affected.
- Changes take time to take effect. Usually it takes a few minutes, but with a long TTL or depending on the registrar, it can take up to about an hour. You can check the current status with the "Check settings" button.
